Went into my local professional tool supplier with the full intent of buying a DeWalt 18V lithium ion drill/driver combo. After trying it out, the sale rep suggested I should try out the Panasonic which he felt had a smoother trigger. It was also the one he personally owned. He was right...there was no comparison. From the slowest to fastest speeds, the control was exceptionally smooth. Both the drill and the driver are lighter than the DeWalt, and the power and torque ratings are essentially the same even at 14.4V.Using the drill with a 2" hole saw going through 3/4" oak plywood, I had the clutch fully off...and made the mistake of not holding the drill ...
